New programs are commencing on a regular basis – enquire now by phoning (07) 4661 3340.

Pain can be very isolating and may lead to depression and over-reliance on pain medication. Relationships and family life often suffer as a result. This Program helps you to develop skills that will give you better control of your pain and enable you to resume many of the activities you may have put on hold.

What is the Program about?

The Program is based on the latest findings of research into the way the brain processes pain signals and how we can influence this, which is termed neuroplastic transformation of pain. This approach uses the brain's capacity to change (plasticity) to reverse pathways that have led to the development of chronic pain.

Each session will give participants a range of strategies and techniques to overcome pain and enable a return to doing the things they enjoy and getting the most out of life. As this is a practical course in pain managment, it is important that participants be very motivated to practice and make alterations in their lifestyle where necessary. When this happens, the results can be truly life-changing. Read what participants have said about the Program.

The Format

The program runs for 10 weeks with sessions 1.5 hours in length. At each session, participants will have an opportunity to share their own experiences and to contribute to the group's learning of what works. There are detailed hand-outs provided to follow-up with each topic at home.

The number of participants for each group is currently restricted to 4-6 to allow for appropriate social distancing due to coronavirus recommendations. This restricts the number of people that can attend the Pain Management Course, so it is best to enquire early. If all groups are full, we will put your name on our waiting list and contact you as soon as a new date is set.
